Originally formed in 2015 as a small group of bourbon enthusiasts in Atlanta, GA, the Shortbarrel name has since become synonymous with top-notch quality. Handpicked with great care, only barrels that meet our group’s exacting standards proudly bear our name. Over four years (2016-2020), we embarked on countless barrel-picking adventures, meticulously selecting around 350 different barrels—possibly more, but things get fuzzy. It was during a Sunday in Louisville in 2020, after indulging in bourbons for hours, that we drunkenly crossed paths with a barrel broker. In a moment of inspired intoxication, we decided to venture into the realm of creating our brand. Thus, Shortbarrel was born, and in early 2021, we hit shelves in GA. Fast forward three years and with more than 10,000 cases sold, we find ourselves eager to expand beyond our current region. Naturally, the logical next step on our journey is Kentucky, where we have secured a contract to distill.

In our state-of-the-art facility, we have the capability to produce over 50 different mashbills, otherwise known as recipes, across the entire whiskey spectrum. We have distilled for some of the best whiskey brands in the world, and have taken all of that knowledge to create our own sought-after expressions.

It honors the Cazcan people, one of the few indigenous groups whose defiance against Spanish conquest remains a proud legacy in the land we call home — a heritage rooted in the very region where we grow our agave and craft our tequila today. Alma del Jaguar is crafted using traditional methods designed to highlight natural flavors of the agave plant and the terroir of the Los Altos (highlands) region. Our production partners, the Vivanco family, are 5th generation tequileros who have been growing agave in Los Altos de Jalisco since 1929. Made on a 5th-generation estate in Los Altos de Jalisco using only agave, water, and yeast. Bottled unfiltered by hand at the source.

Winner of 71 prestigious international awards, it is expected that Highclere Castle Gin will become the most awarded gin by the end of 2021. Highclere Castle Gin possesses a rare level of smoothness that allows it to be enjoyed on the rocks.  Traditionally, it is exceptional when mixed with tonic and a lime or in a classic martini cocktail. Recovered from the Carnarvon family archives stored deep within the castle, menus and letters reference gin cocktails from the early 1900’s.  Enjoyed in the “Highclere Style” for over a century, the traditional method of indulgence involves a cocktail made with gin, tonic, a fresh orange squeeze and peel, and finished with a rosemary sprig from the garden. Juniper has grown wild on the estate since the ancient Roman days, and forms the backbone of this super premium London Dry Gin.

Something magical happens to the whiskey in its seventh year in cask. We call it the sweet spot, where smoothness meets notes of caramel, vanilla, and warm oak, and the liquid turns a rich gold. This is the mellow whiskey you’ll find in the new Jim Beam Black. Enjoy Jim Beam Black neat, on the rocks, or in a Jim Beam Black Old Fashioned.
