C.H. Wente came to America in the late 1800s from Hamburg Germany, learned to make wine from a German by the name of Charles Krug in the Napa Valley, and in 1883 established his first 47-acre Estate and Winery. He chose the Livermore Valley as it was famed for its excellent soils and climate. In 1908, C.H. planted the first Chardonnay vines in the Livermore Valley. Our 2023 Morning Fog Chardonnay bursts with aromatics of citrus and green apple complemented by hints of toasty oak and vanilla from barrel-aging. This wine is balanced by a lingering minerality and natural acidity to create a beautiful wine. Our 2022 Sandstone Merlot is supple and beautifully balanced, showcasing aromas of ripe red cherry and plum that are complimented by creamy oak notes of sweet caramel and vanilla bean. Domaine Laroche is a large landholder in Chablis, with 90 hectares of vineyards. THE CHATTANOOGA WHISKEY STORY Inspired by our city's rich distilling history, Chattanooga Whiskey was founded in 2011 with a mission to bring back "Whiskey to the People." Following the success of our community-powered Vote Whiskey campaign, we eventually became the first distillery in Chattanooga in over a century. In 2015, we began the patient process of crafting our malt-forward style of straight bourbon whiskey we call Tennessee High Malt. After 8 years in the making, our Tennessee High Malt was released in August 2019, marking a new era in our company history with a whiskey that celebrates the future as much as the history that got us here today.

The inspiration for this distillery is as deeply-rooted in our community as the storied tales of the past; from the notes and flavors of each hand-crafted spirit to the historic streets that bear their names. The once elusive story of Burnt Church Road soon became as clear as our vodka. Thought to be lost centuries ago – we have the story, and now you have Burnt Church Vodka.
