Penelope Bourbon was crafted and created in a classic American tradition – to celebrate an impending birth of a child. In 2018, Mike Paladini and his wife, Kerry, found out they were expecting a baby girl, Penelope.  To commemorate this occasion, Mike quickly realized he wanted to create a spirit that embodied the daily joy of celebrating life’s pleasures – big and small. Teaming up with his close childhood friend and neighbor, Danny Polise, they set out to discover and produce a Straight Bourbon Whiskey everyone could appreciate and enjoy. A company was born. Today, Penelope Bourbon is available in 37 states and 3 countries. Proving that with enough love and care, and hard work, anything is possible. Four Grain is what started it all. Back in 2018, we set out to create a series of bourbons that were approachable and enjoyable for all. We found a special combination of Corn, Rye, Wheat, and Malted Barley bourbon and never looked back. We hope you enjoy all of these as much as we do.

Our flagship spirit This bourbon is made from 100% Jimmy Red Corn, a magenta-hued landrace grain grown for decades on James Island and nearly lost forever. For 9 years, we’ve worked with a team of researchers and farmers to rebuild a secure seed supply for the most flavorful whiskey corn we’ve ever tasted. Tasting Notes:Graham, cinnamon, vanilla, and maple with a creamy mouthfeel.

Adam and Amanda Kroener were on a diet... A low calorie and low carb diet, to be more specific. Our Agaves are then cooked in a traditional stone oven for 22 hours and crushed by an innovative handmade tahona named “Frankenstein.” We use copper pot stills for both distillations. Our Volans ultra premium Blanco tequila is unaged, our Volans ultra premium single barrel reposado is aged for under a year, and our extra añejo is aged for three and a half years in used American oak bourbon casks.
