THE LEGACY OF '81 SLANE SPECIAL EDITION Slane Special Edition is inspired by Lord Henry Conyngham and the first Slane Castle Concert that took place on August 16, 1981. Now more than 40 years later, Henry’s trailblazing idea lives on both through the concert and Slane Irish Whiskey. Slane Special Edition uses Slane Irish Whiskey’s signature triple casked blend with an increased amount of Virgin Casks to go with the Seasoned and Sherry Casks. We wait patiently and pick grapes at their optimum flavor. We work with coopers to ensure the barrels uplift rather than dominate the fresh, citrus fruit profile.
