Adam and Amanda Kroener were on a diet... A low calorie and low carb diet, to be more specific. But there was a problem: They liked to unwind at the end of a long day by enjoying a delicious cocktail. They quickly found out there weren’t a whole lot of diet friendly cocktail options out there. So they began dabbling in hard seltzers. And while the nutrition information was to their liking, one thing was definitely not: The flavor. They simply couldn’t get past the drab and lifeless taste. In a word: blah... So they did what any focused and ambitious couple would do. They started mixing their own cocktails using vodka, sparkling water and natural flavor extracts. Carbliss was born. And so was a mission. A mission to serve anyone who wants to enjoy a hand crafted cocktail that is free of carbohydrates, sugars and calories. And it turns out the ease of having it all in one can was rather handy too.

First mixed in the early 80’s by founder, Bill Gage, the original Happy Ending™ cocktail was created to satisfy a crowd of guests at one of his unforgettable house parties. The cocktail was a hit from the very beginning and became Bill’s go-to from that moment forward. His signature cocktail followed him to Vermont where it earned him the role of social chair at his fraternity and has since stood the test of time as the best-selling cocktail for over a decade at the Gage family restaurant on Lake Geneva. After 40 years Bill knew he had something special – a seriously satisfying, one-of-a-kind cocktail that truly lives up to its name. The only improvement would be the ability to bring the party to any place. So, after years of requests from family, friends along with some industry connections, the Happy Ending™ canned cocktail grew from an idea to reality. In 2025, Bill partnered with Eric Weber, spirits industry veteran, to make Happy Ending™ even more accessible. For more than 30 years, Skinny has planted seeds and seedlings in his ever-expanding garden and harvested and canned fresh vegetables.
