Here's to the rabbits who discovered tequila Centuries ago, legend has it, a farmers wife saw lots of rabbits (400 it is said). They were bouncing happily through her fields lapping up the juices from the fermented agave plants. She went out and collected some of the nectar in jars, brought it into the hacienda and, for the first time, everyone did tequila shots. Ultimately she was crowned Mayahuel, the Aztec Goddess of Tequila. And the rabbits, well, to us, they’re heroes. |

At Happenstance, we like tradition but we’re not so old fashioned. We like our manhattans with a beach, our whiskey not-so-sour and our seven and sevens don’t equal fourteen. Our founder wanted to create a brand that pays homage to the tradition of American bourbons that have come before us, but with an unexpected punch of today’s most sought out flavors. So, born was our Founder’s Edition straight bourbon whiskey - a 90 proof, cabernet-style bourbon with a complex combination of vanilla, hazelnut, toasted oak, honey and toffee notes. So smooth, we’ve won gold at the San Francisco Wine & Spirits competitions back to back years, in addition taking home gold at the Denver International Spirits Competition, SIP Awards and Beverage Testing Institute Awards. Adam and Amanda Kroener were on a diet... A low calorie and low carb diet, to be more specific. But there was a problem: They liked to unwind at the end of a long day by enjoying a delicious cocktail. They quickly found out there weren’t a whole lot of diet friendly cocktail options out there. So they began dabbling in hard seltzers. And while the nutrition information was to their liking, one thing was definitely not: The flavor. They simply couldn’t get past the drab and lifeless taste. In a word: blah... So they did what any focused and ambitious couple would do. They started mixing their own cocktails using vodka, sparkling water and natural flavor extracts. Carbliss was born. And so was a mission. A mission to serve anyone who wants to enjoy a hand crafted cocktail that is free of carbohydrates, sugars and calories. And it turns out the ease of having it all in one can was rather handy too.
